Does this mean "The Wisdom of Crowds" is right?

"In a recent Pew poll that asked people to name the leader of the Democratic Party, only 3 percent named Dean. More people named Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi as Democratic leader. Sixty percent of respondents don't think the party has one."

Ed Bradley , dead of Luekemia at age 65

I just found out that Ed Bradley has passed away:

Ed Bradley, the longtime “60 Minutes” correspondent who passed away Thursday, was all those things and more. But he had one more quality few journalists have: He was cool.

Bradley was one of the first African-American journalists to break into the top tier of broadcast journalism. For that, and for his many other accomplishments, he will be long remembered.

But it’s hard not to also think of him as one of the coolest news guys who ever graced our TV screens.

He was much more than Cool. He was wounded in Cambodia, he had the only TV interview of Tim McVeigh, he won 19 emmys, and was a champion of truth and justice. I will miss him.

It is especially hard to hear of this passing was due to Leukemia. My father died of Leukemia 37 years ago. It is a disease that I would like to see defeated. I plan on running a marathon in the next 18 months to raise money for Luekemia research via Team in training; I just need to fit it into my work and current travel schedule. At that time, you will be hearing alot from me about donations. But do what I am doing; write a check "in memory of Ed" and mail it tonight. It's the cool thing to do.

Time to step up and practice what you preach. . .

"Six months later, Ireland's finance minister announced a ceiling of $319,000 on tax-free incomes, and six months after that, U2 opened its Amsterdam office. The relocation of U2's music publishing will halve taxes on the band's songwriting royalties, which already reportedly total $286 million. Although Bono has declined to comment on the move, the band's lead guitarist, David 'the Edge' Evans, said, 'Of course we're trying to be tax-efficient. Who doesn't want to be tax-efficient?'' Writing in the Observer, Nick Cohen noted that Evans 'sounded as edgy as a plump accountant in the 19th hole.'

U2's tax-shelter scheme caused an uproar in Ireland when the story broke there in August. But it's scarcely raised a ripple in the United States. A conservative would argue that's because in this country, we don't begrudge a man the opportunity to keep what he earns off the sweat of his brow (or even off the sweat of someone else's brow ) … even if that man spends half his time trying to goad governments into spending more to alleviate poverty. But a liberal could answer that in the United States, we are so used to seeing rich people avoid taxation that even a wealthy hypocrite who shelters his cash abroad can no longer qualify as news."

I still support One.org, but I am disappointed that Bono acts to undermine his message and ultimately the organization.
